The event will let SDN Lab members test the interoperability of their products with Big Switch Networks' commercial controller, the Big Network Controller. Equipment from SDN switch vendors Dell, Extreme Networks, HP, IBM and NEC as well as SDN testing manufacturers Ixia and Spirent will be tested at the event. Colorado State University has joined the Kuali Foundation as an investing partner in the Kuali Financial and Research Administration Systems. The Kuali Foundation is a non-profit organization responsible for sustaining and evolving a comprehensive suite of administrative software that meets the needs of all Carnegie Class institutions. CSU joins 20 other university investing partners including Indiana University. Kuali Financial is based on IU's financial system.

The data available via CLSD include amongst others dbSNP, Saccaromyces Genome Database, PubMed, and several NCBI BLAST databases including NT, NR, and SP. US researchers who are interested in making use of this service are invited to contact the IU TeraGrid Research Partner site -- the Research Technologies Division of Indiana University. IBM plans to staff the new 2,000-square-foot Future Technology Solution Design Center located in the university's Informatics and Communications Technology Complex with five professionals who will develop new products and applications based on advanced Cell processor technology.

The Indiana Geographic Information Council recently recognized three Indiana University staff members for developing a user-friendly mechanism for downloading multiple files from the Indiana Spatial Data Portal (ISDP), a large repository of Indiana geospatial data. David Heald, database analyst and Stephanie Snider, GIS specialist, both of University Information Technology Services, and Nathan Eaton, information services manager of IU's Indiana Geological Survey, received the Indiana GIS Award during the Council's annual conference.
